The Syracuse Orange football program will make a long awaited return to the Meadowlands Saturday, as it will play the No. 1-ranked USC Trojans in the first ever New York's College Classic (3:30 p.m. ET on ABC) at MetLife Stadium. The Big East/Pac-12 Conference showdown marks the second consecutive year these two programs will square off -- last season, the Trojans easily defeated the Orange, 38-17, at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.
This will be the first time MetLife Stadium will host both schools, but neither program is a stranger to playing each other at the Meadowlands. In the 1990 Kickoff Classic, the Trojans defeated the then Orangemen, 34-16.
All-time, SU is 5-3 in East Rutherford including three victories against Rutgers Scarlet Knights and wins against the Wisconsin Badgers and West Virginia Moutaineers. However, USC holds a 3-0 series record against the Orange, including a 16-0 victory at the Coliseum in '24.
