The Syracuse Orange football program will look for its first victory of the season Saturday when the Stony Brook Seawolves visit the Carrier Dome for a non-conference contest (4 p.m. ET on SNY). Surprisingly, this will be the first meeting between the two upstate New York universities.
The Orange (0-2) are coming off a hard-fought 42-29 loss to the No. 2-ranked USC Trojans, while the Seawolves (2-0) are coming off a dominating 77-7 victory over Pace University. The win helped Stony Brook remaining ranked in the two major FCS polls, which both have the Seawolves ranked No. 17.
SU is looking to snap a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season and extended its winning streak over FCS opponents to 29 straight. All-time, the Orange are 9-0 against FCS opponents in the Carrier Dome. Last season, Syracuse defeated the Rhode Island Rams, 24-14.
