St. John's Vs. Rutgers: Scarlet Knights Squeak Out Win, 61-58

For a while it didn't look like 40 minutes was going to be enough time to settle the score between Rutgers and St. John's on Saturday night, but in the end, the Scarlet Knights upended the Red Storm 61-58 in Big East play.

Four Rutgers players scored in double figures, led by freshman guard Eli Carter, who had 15 points on the night, 11 of which came in the first half. The team shot only 37.7 percent from the field, but that was good enough to earn its sixth Big East win on Senior Night in Piscataway.

The visiting Red Storm, who had won three of four games, went even colder from the field then Rutgers, shooting just 37.3 percent and missing 12 of 16 three pointers.

Both teams will begin Big East conference tournament play on Tuesday, which will be held at Madison Square Garden.
