The East Region's top-seeded Syracuse Orange advance to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 round Saturday, as they down the Kansas St. Wildcats 75-59in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Orange (33-2) will now face either No. 4 Wisconsin Badgers or No. 5 Vanderbilt Commodores next week in Boston, Ma.
The victory helped the Orange move onto the Sweet 16 for the third time in four March Madness, as last season the Orange lost to the Marquette Golden Eagles in the Round of 32. Syracuse hasn't advance to the Elite 8 since its National Champion run in 2003.
