Syracuse Vs. UConn Final Score: Orange Holds Off Huskies, Avoids Upset

Despite a furious second half rally, the Syracuse Orange held off the UConn Huskies 71-69 on Saturday night in a hard-earned road win.

'Cuse held a 43-29 advantage at the half before the defending champion Huskies roared back to tie the game at 69-69 with less than a minute remaining. Fab Melo's dunk with 25 seconds left put the Orange up 71-69 and helped his team secure its eighth consecutive win.

Forward Kris Joseph led the way for Syracuse, posting 21 points to go along with seven rebounds. Freshman Andre Drummond had 17 points and 14 rebounds for UConn.

With the win, Syracuse now stands at 16-1 in conference play and 29-1 overall. The Huskies slip to 7-9 in the Big East and 17-11 on the season.
