Fab Melo Status: Syracuse Center Reportedly To Return For Game Vs. St. John's On Saturday

Syracuse Orange center Fabricio Melo could finally be back on the floor on Saturday when the Orange take on the St. John's Red Storm at Madison Square Garden, according to a report (via Syracuse.com).

Melo has missed the last three games due to an academic issue. An official announcement regarding Melo's status is expected to be made on Thursday. The 7-foot center was allowed to practice with the team while he sat out the games. Neither Melo nor head coach Jim Boeheim commented on Melo's status after practice today.

Without Melo, the Orange went 2-1 against Notre Dame, Cincinnati and West Virginia. The biggest margin of victory in the wins over Cincinnati and West Virginia was just seven against the Bearcats.

Melo averages 7.2 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game and 3 blocks per game for Syracuse this season.
