Providence Vs. Seton Hall Final Score: Pirates Hold Off Friars, 66-57

Sophomore forward Fuquan Edwin netted a collegiate-best 24 points Saturday night to help the Seton Hall Pirates defeat the Providence Friars, 66-57, in a Big East Conference game at the Dunkin Donuts Center. The Pirates (14-2, 3-1 Big East), who upset the No. 8 Connecticut Huskies Tuesday, should have a good enough resume to earn a spot in the college basketball rankings for the first time since 2001. The weekly top 25 rankings come out Monday afternoon.

Ahead by just one with 3:23 remaining in the game, Seton Hall turned to senior point guard Jordan Theodore for a second straight game. Theodore, who netted all of his points 19 points in the second half Tuesday, hit a pull-up jumper and cemented the victory nailing five free throws down the stretch.

Junior guard Vincent Council paced the Friars (11-6, 0-4) with 23 points.

Seton Hall led 32-29 at halftime and led by as much as 11 points.
