Rutgers Vs. Cincinnati Final Score Update: Scarlet Knights Tip Bearcats, 71-64

Behind another strong outing from freshman guard Eli Carter, Rutgers upset Cincinnati in Big East play Saturday night in Piscataway, NJ.

Carter led all Scarlet Knights with 17 points, and Rutgers held Cincinnati to just 35.7% shooting from the field. The win pushes Rutgers to 12-10 on the season, and 4-5 within the conference.

The Bearcats offense started slow, putting up just 23 first half points and making just 20 field goals on the night. Yancy Gates was amongst a trio of Bearcats to put in double figure scoring, as the senior chipped in 16 points, 3.5 above his season average.

After winning 10 of 11 games on the heels of an ugly in-game brawl with their city rival Xavier, Cincinnati has lost three straight and fallen 3.5 games back of Big East-leading Syracuse.

They'll host DePaul next Saturday, while Rutgers will next travel to play at Providence on Wednesday night.
