The Seton Hall Pirates are looking to snap their two-game losing streak Wednesday night against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at the Prudential Center.
Seton Hall (15-4, 4-3) is coming off a pasting at the hands of Villanova in which it gave 84 points. Tonight marks the beginning of a huge stretch for the Pirates. After Notre Dame, Seton Hall plays three ranked opponents consecutively in Louisville, Marquette and Connecticut. This is a part of the schedule that could brand Kevin Willard's team as either a contender or pretender.
The Fighting Irish (12-8, 4-3) come into Newark after handing Syracuse its first loss of the season. Granted the Orange were short-handed, but Notre Dame stuck it to them, holding Jim Boeheim's crew to just 58 points.
Similar to the Pirates, this game is the last before showdowns against two ranked teams (UConn and Marquette). Senior forward Tim Abromaitis is the key for Notre Dame. He leads them in scoring and ranks second in rebounding.
Seton Hall will need Jordan Theodore to rebound after his miserable performance against Villanova, in which he shot 2 for 16. Theodore and Herb Pope will need to lead the Pirates onto the court in a match-up tonight that will shake up the Big East standings.
The game can be seen on MSG+ with a 7 p.m. ET tip-off.
