Sean Kilpatrick Of Cincinnati Will Play Against Syracuse Despite Groin Injury

Cincinnati Bearcats sophomore guard Sean Kilpatrick hobbled off the court Saturday in the final seconds of a road-overtime loss, 77-74, at the West Virginia Mountaineers. And entering Monday's contest against the No. 3-ranked Syracuse Orange (7 p.m. on ESPN) there was some concern that Kilpatrick's health would keep him out, however, a few hours before Monday's tipoff CBSSports.com's Jeff Goodman (via Twitter) reported that the 3-point bomber will play.

As proven Saturday at the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who nailed eight of their 16 3-pointers in an upset victory over SU, 67-58, long-range shooting is key to defeating the Orange (20-1, 7-1 Big East), who suffered their first loss of the season.

And the numbers prove that Kilpatrick, who's averaging 2.8 3-pointers per game and 17.3 points per game, is a big part of the Bearcats' long-range success -- Cincy has made over 10 3-pointers per game since Dec. 10.
