The new college basketball rankings are out, and they look pretty much the same as they have the past few weeks -- at least at the top.
As the Syracuse Orange (15-0) blew out the DePaul Blue Demons, 87-68, on Sunday, there was no surprise at the top as Syracuse retained the No. 1 spot in both polls. The Orange are trailed by Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina and Baylor in the Coaches' Poll. Syracuse received 30 of 31 first place votes, Kentucky got the other vote. In the AP Poll, Syracuse is followed by Kentucky, North Carolina, Baylor and Duke.
No other New York area teams were ranked in the Top 25 of either poll this week. The Seton Hall Pirates (12-2) received three votes in the latest Coaches' Poll.
Syracuse has upcoming games against Providence (Jan. 4) and No. 20 Marquette (Jan. 7). Seton Hall has upcoming Big East games against No. 8 UConn (Jan. 3) and Providence (Jan. 7)
