Three members of the Syracuse University football team are part of a record-setting group of 65 players who have been granted special eligibility into the 2012 NFL Draft.
The three are defensive end Chandler Jones, defensive back Thomas Phillip and wide receiver Dorian Graham. Each of the 65 players has met the league’s three-year eligibility rule and each has submitted a written application in which he renounced his remaining college football eligibility. The deadline for receiving applications was January 15.
Jones is the most highly-regarded of any Syracuse player eligible for the upcoming draft. He is considered a third or fourth-round pick at this point, and was listed in the recent top 100 prospects released by Draft Countdown.
