Junior guard Kemba Walker scored a game-best 18 points for the No. 3-seeded Connecticut Huskies, who easily defeated No. 14 Bucknell Bison, 81-52, in a second-round NCAA Tournament contest at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. The Huskies (27-9) advanced to the third round in the West Region and will play either No. 6 Cincinnati Bearcats or No. 11 Missouri Tigers on Saturday.
Freshman forward Roscoe Smith added 17 points for UConn, which led 39-22 at halftime. Sophomore forward Alex Oriakhi chipped in with nine points and a team-best 13 rebounds. Senior guard Donnel Beverly scored 16-bench points.
Sophomore forward Mike Muscala netted a team-best 14 points for the Bison (25-9), who earned a tourney invite by defeating the Lafayette Leopards, 72-57, in the Patriot League Tournament final on March 11.
