Syracuse 37, USF 28 Halftime Score: Rick Jackson's 13 Points Helps SU Earn Lead

Behind senior forward Rick Jackson's game-best 13 points, the Syracuse Orange lead the South Florida Bulls 37-28 at halftime of a Big East Conference contest at the St. Petersburg Forum. The Orange (19-4, 6-4) are trying to end their three-game road stretch with back-to-back victories -- on Tuesday night, SU beat the Connecticut Huskies (No. 6 in the AP poll and No. 7 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll) 66-58.

Syracuse used a 12-0 run, led by junior forward Kris Joseph and freshman forward C.J. Fair each netting four points, to take a 22-11 lead with about eight minutes remaining. However, USF which did have an early 11-10 advantage, used a small spurt to cut the margin to xx points heading into the locker room.

So far, Joseph has 7 points and 5 rebounds while teammate Fair has 5 points and a team-best 8 rebounds. The Orange are 12-of-31 from the field (38.7 percent) and 3-of-9 from behind the 3-point arc.

Sophomore forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick, senior center Jarrid Famous and junior guard Hugh Robertson each have a team-best six points for USF (8-15, 2-8), which is 10-of-28 (35.7) on field goals and 1-of-8from 3-point land.
