The Syracuse football program's complete 2011 schedule was released Friday afternoon and the Orange will host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Saturday, Oct. 1st, at the Carrier Dome in their Big East Conference opener. Syracuse, which last season finished alone in fourth place in the conference, defeated Rutgers 13-10 on Nov. 13.
SU's complete 12-game schedule features the Orange hosting the Wake Forest Demon Decans in the season opener, Sept. 3 (date is subject to change). Two weeks later, after hosting Rhode Island, Sept. 10, SU will travel cross country to play its most anticipated non-conference game at the USC Trojans, Sept. 17.
Currently, the Orange are slotted to host a Friday night Big East matchup against the South Florida Bulls, Nov. 11 (8 p.m. on ESPN 2). Syracuse will concluded its regular season playing at the Pittsburgh Panthers, Saturday, Dec. 3, on one of the three ABC sports networks.
Syracuse's Spring practice begins March 8, while its Spring game will be played April 16. Here's is SU's complete 2011 schedule:
