Behind 15-bench points from sophomore guard Dion Waiters and eight 3-pointers, the Syracuse University men's basketball team has taken a 47-33 halftime lead over North Carolina State University in a non-conference game at the RBC Center in Raleigh, NC. Junior forward Kris Joseph has netted 11 points for the Orange (10-0), ranked No. 1 in the country, who used a 23-0 run, which included 10 points from Waiters, to help take a 14-point advantage into the locker room.
Trailing 23-15 just 7:43 into the contest, Syracuse rallied behind solid defense, which forced 11 N.C. State turnovers, and a barrage of 3-pointers. Syracuse made 8-of-15 from behind the 3-point arc, as both Joseph and junior forward James Southerland (nine points) each made three from long range, while Waiters made two from behind the 3-point arc.
Senior guard C.J. Williams has netted a team-best 13 points for the Wolfpack (6-3), while sophomore forward C.J. Leslie has added seven points and five rebounds.
