Halftime Score: USF 20, Syracuse 10

Two second-quarter touchdowns and a late field goal has helped the University of South Florida earn a 20-10 halftime advantage over Syracuse University in a Big East Conference game at the Carrier Dome. USF (4-4, 0-4 Big East) scored on four-yard touchdown run by sophomore running back Marus Shaw, two-yard scramble by junior quarterback B.J. Daniels and a 46-yard field goal by junior kicker Maikon Bonani.

Bonani's kick came at the end of the first half and capped a quick 52-yard drive, which featured 11-rushing yards from Daniels. Shaw's second TD of the season capped a nine-play, 62-yard march that came at the beginning of the quarter, while Daniels' score ended a 2-play, 55-yard drive that was highlighted by a 43-yard reception by freshman wide out Andre Davis.

At two points in the second quarter, Syracuse trailed by 10-point margin. However, in both instances, the Orange (5-4, 1-3) were able to answer with a score.

SU's first answer came on a five-play, 50-yard drive that was capped by a 10-yard touchdown reception by senior wide receiver Alec Lemon from senior quarterback Ryan Nassib with about eight minutes remaining in the second. The drive was highlighted by a 24-yard pas to senior tight end Nick Provo, which came on the first play of the possession.

Then, after USF's second TD of the quarter, the Orange quickly marched 60 yards in 2:06 to set up a 28-yard field goal from sophomore kicker Ross Krautman.

However, the Orange left enough time on the clock for Daniels and the Bulls to score at the end of the quarter.

The Bulls will begin the second half with the ball.
