Syracuse Football: Ross Krautman, Ryan Nassib Earn Weekly Big East Honors

After compiling 13 total points and nailing the game-winning, 21-yard field goal in Saturday's 37-34 victory over Tulane University, Syracuse University football player sophomore kicker Ross Krautman earned the Big East Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honor Monday.

Krautman's last-second kick split the uprights as time expired and capped a 12-play, 66-yard drive that allowed the Orange to escape with their fourth win of the season. Krautman also was a perfect 3-of-3 on field goal attempts.

Meanwhile, senior quarterback Ryan Nassib was named to the Big East honor roll for the fifth time this season. Despite throwing for just 186 yards and two touchdowns, Nassib did engineer the game-winning drive against the Green Wave, who tied the game at 34-34 with 2:53 remaining in the game.

The Syracuse football schedule features the Orange taking their first of two bye weeks. Following the week off, SU will host West Virginia University, Friday, Oct. 21 (8 p.m. on ESPN or ESPN2).
