That was by far the ugliest half of NCAA Division I men’s college hoops that I’ve ever seen.
I don’t know if I want to watch the second half.
Heck, I doubt head coach Jim Boeheim wants to even bring back his No.4-ranked Syracuse Orange squad after that first half.
The biggest stat of the first half has to be the Seton Hall Pirates shooting 0-for-17 from 3-point land — Yes, that’s a correct stat.
Pirates guard Jordan Theodore is 0-for-5 from behind the arc. Teammates Edwin Fuquan and Jamel Jackson are both 0-for-4 from 3-point land.
Fuquan currently has a team-best eight points. Teammate Jeff Robinson has six points and eight rebounds. Herb Pope has collected 10 rebounds.
For Syracuse, Kris Joseph is the leading scorer with eight points. Joseph also grabbed six rebounds.
Teammate Rick Jackson has just two points but nine rebounds.
Starting point guard Scoop Jardine may not even see the floor after an awful first half, which featured three turnovers, one assist and two points.
Syracuse has nine overall. Seton Hall has four turnovers.
Not much else to talk about in this game because there wasn’t anything but a lot of missed shots. Here’s the shooting stats.
Syracuse: 7-for-23 (30.4 percent). Seton Hall: 8-for-34 (23.5).
