Pinstripe Bowl: SU, Kansas To Arrive in NYC Sunday

The Kansas State Wildcats and Syracuse Orange will kick off Bowl Week on Sunday, Dec. 26, when they arrive in New York City to begin a week of festivities leading up to the inaugural New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.

Syracuse University will begin arriving at the Grand Hyatt New York at noon. Syracuse Head Coach Doug Marrone will be made available to the media in the hotel lobby at approximately 4:15 p.m.

Kansas State University will touch down in the Big Apple on Sunday evening, arriving at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers approximately at 6:30 p.m. Kansas State Head Coach Bill Snyder will meet with the media in the hotel shortly thereafter.

The New Era Pinstripe Bowl will mark the first bowl game held in New York City in 48 years, and the first since the original Yankee Stadium hosted the Gotham Bowl on Dec. 15, 1962 (Nebraska 36 - Miami 34). Kickoff for the game on Thursday, December 30, is scheduled for 3:22 p.m.

Thursday the Yankee Stadium grounds crew painted the end zones in preparation for
the New Era Pinstripe Bowl between Kansas State University and Syracuse University,
taking place on December 30, 2010. The contest will mark the first college football
bowl game at the current Yankee Stadium and the first in New York City since the
original Yankee Stadium hosted the Gotham Bowl on Dec. 15, 1962.
