Syracuse will open its Big East schedule Wednesday night when the Orange host Rutgers at 7 p.m. ET.
Syracuse is off to a fast start, going 12-1 before playing their first Big East opponent. The Orange have won two in a row after being upset by Temple, 83-79, on Dec. 22.
Rutgers is 9-2 this season. The Scarlet Knights have won five games in a row since losing to Ole Miss, 80-67, on Dec. 1.
Syracuse hasn't lost to Rutgers since 2003.
Four players are anchoring Syracuse this season. James Southerland and Brandon Triche are averaging a team-high 13.8 points per game. Meanwhile, C.J. Fair is averaging 12.6 points and Michael Carter-Williams is at 12.2. Fair is also the team's leading rebounder, averaging 6.9 rebounds per game.
Eli Carter leads Rutgers with 16.9 points per game this season. The guard is shooting 42 percent from the field and 31 percent from three-point territory. Guard Myles Mack is second in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game.
