The Baylor Bears earned an impressive 64-55 road victory over the No. 8-ranked Kentucky Wildcats Saturday in a men's college basketball at Rupp Arena. The loss ended the Wildcats' 55-game home winning streak, which was the longest in the NCAA.

And though the Long Island U. Blackbirds currently own a 28-game winning streak at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center, the longest winning streak now belongs to the No. 5-ranked Syracuse Orange and No. 10 Kansas Jayhawks, who each have won 25 straight at home, according to the NCAA.

Why is that?

Well, according to LIU's Assistant Director of Athletics, Dan Lobacz, its because the Blackbirds first loss of the season, which came against Morehead State, Nov. 9, at the new Barclays Center located in Brooklyn, was considered a home game by the NCAA.

"NCAA rule says if arena is within certain distance of campus it is considered a home game," said Lobacz via e-mail. "Barclays Center is within that range, therefore it is considered a home game."

Last season, both Syracuse and Kansas went undefeated at home. The Orange's last loss on Jim Boeheim Court came against the Georgetown Hoyas on Feb. 29, 2011. The Jayhawks last loss in Allen Fieldhouse came against the Texas Longhorns on Jan. 22, 2011.
