SYRACUSE -- Behind a game-high 21 points from senior guard Brandon Triche the No. 8-ranked Syracuse Orange romped past the Wagner Seahawks, 88-57, in non-conference men's college basketball game at the Carrier Dome.

The Orange (2-0) trailed briefly, 13-11, early in the first half, however, clamped down on defense which helped them take a 36-23 halftime lead. Junior center Baye Keita scored all of his collegiate-best 15 points in the second half to help SU run away with the victory.

Here's what Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim had to say after SU's 23rd consecutive home victory:

Sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams tallied six points and dished out eight of his game-high 11 assists in the second half. Freshman guard Trevor Cooney added eight points (2-for-5 from behind the 3-point arc) and collected six steals. Sophomore forward Rakeem Christmas tallied eight points and seven rebounds.

Freshman center DaJuan Coleman played 20 minutes and finished with just three points and seven rebounds. Surprisingly, junior forward C.J. Fair was very quiet (seven points and four rebounds) in the blowout win.

On Wednesday, Syracuse hosts the Princeton Tigers at the Carrier Dome (7 p.m. ET).
