The 2012 Women's NCAA Tournament Championship Game is officially set, with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Baylor Bears winning their Saturday semifinal games to advance. The championship game is set to tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday on ESPN.
The Fighting Irish had to survive a thriller against the Connecticut Huskies to advance. The Huskies were down as many as seven points in the second half, but completed a frantic comeback in the final minutes to force overtime. Then Brittany Mallory took over, scoring seven of her 11 points after regulation to elevate Notre Dame, 83-75, over UConn.
The Bears had an easier time against the Stanford Cardinal, though it's fair to say they looked more fallible than they had at any time during the tournament so far. Brittney Griner went just 3-for-9 shooting from the field matched up against Stanford's Nnemkadi Ogwumike. Baylor led by just two points at halftime, but Terran Condrey and Odyssey Sims stepped up in the second half to lead the Lady Bears to a 59-47 win.
