NCAA Women's Tournament 2012: St. Bonaventure Survives Florida Gulf Coast, 72-65, In OT

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies defeated Florida Gulf Coast, 72-65, in overtime from the Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Fla. on Sunday in the First Round of the 2012 Women's NCAA Tournament.

The Bonnies led at half 30-24 but lost their lead in the second half and were in danger of getting upset by the No. 12 seeded Eagles. With just 6:53 to play in the second half, the Eagles were up, 51-42. The Bonnies needed a 16-7 run just to send the game into overtime. In the extra frame, St. Bonaventure's momentum from the second half carried into overtime. The Eagles were outscored, 14-7, in overtime.

The Bonnies were led by 18 points from Megan Van Tatenhove and 17 points from Armelia Horton. Sarah Hansen led the Florida Gulf Coast upset bid with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

St. Bonaventure's win broke a 21-game winning streak by the Eagles. The Bonnies will move on to meet Marist on Tuesday. The winner will advance to the Sweet 16.
