The St. John's Red Storm continued to struggle against ranked teams on Wednesday night. The Red Storm lost to the Marquette Golden Eagles by a final score of 83-64 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, their third loss in four games.
St. John's took a narrow lead into halftime, 32-31, but was ultimately unable to keep pace with Marquette, which went on a 52-32 run in the second half for the win. The Red Storm shot just 40.7 percent from the field and made fewer than a third of their three-point attempts in the game.
Junior forward God'sgift Achiuwa led St. John's with 20 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Moe Harkless scored 17 points and added six rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots. On Saturday, Harkless scored the game-winner in their win over Cincinnati.
St. John's is now 8-8 and 2-3 in Big East play. The Red Storm host Georgetown on Sunday.
