St. John's Vs. Connecticut: Red Storm Fall to Huskies 83-69

The St. John's Red Storm fell to the the ninth-ranked Connecticut Huskies today by a final score of 83-69. The loss drops the Red Storm to 7-6 on the season and 1-1 in the Big East. UConn moves to 12-1 and 2-0 in the Big East.

The Red Storm had four players score in double figures – God'sgift Achiuwa, Sir'Dominic Pointer, D'Angelo Harrison and Moe Harkless – but got zero contribution from their bench, who failed to record a single point, rebound or assist.

St. John's shot an abysmal 36 percent from the field, but were able to hang with the Huskies by getting to the free throw line – 30 times – and limiting their turnovers.

The Red Storm's next game is January 3 when they host the fourth-ranked Louisville Cardinals.
