St. John's meets Fordham on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in the back end of a doubleheader as part of the 2011 Madison Square Garden Holiday Festival (2:30 p.m.).
The Red Storm have lost three straight games and five of their last six, including consecutive road contests against Kentucky and Detroit before taking an 11-day break for exams. Moe Harkless had 19 points and 11 rebounds against Detroit, but the Red Storm committed 16 turnovers and could not dig themselves out of a second-half hole, falling 69-63.
Fordham beat Siena on Dec. 12 to end a two-game losing streak. The Rams have played one prior game against a Big East opponent, falling to Syracuse 78-53 on Nov. 12.
St. John's will be participating in its 46th Holiday Festival. The Red Storm have won 15 championships in the tournament, including last season, when Justin Brownlee scored a career-high 21 points in an 85-69 victory against Northwestern in the championship game.
