Georgetown 77, St. John's 52: Red Storm Lose Third Straight Game

(Sports Network) - Jason Clark scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds while Hollis Thompson came off the bench to provide 15 points and six boards as No. 20 Georgetown topped St. John's, 77-52, at Verizon Center. Austin Freeman supplied 14 points and moved past Brandon Bowman into 12th place on the all-time scoring list for the Hoyas (15-5, 4-4 Big East), who have won three straight following a three-game slide.

Justin Burrell scored 12 points and pulled down seven caroms in a reserve role and Dwight Hardy added 10 points for the Red Storm (11-8, 4-5), who have lost three in a row and five out of six, all to ranked teams. The teams split the season series, with St. John's having beaten the Hoyas, 61-58, on January 3.

The St. John's basketball schedule features the Red Storm hosting the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils on Sunday (1 p.m.). Next week, the Johnnies are at the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Wednesday (9 p.m.) and at the UCLA Bruins Saturday (1 p.m.)
