Mohamed Sanu, the former standout wide receiver for Rutgers, is ranked as the overall prospect for the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft, according to the final prospect rankings released Tuesday by NFL Network draft guru Mike Mayock. Sanu, according to Mayock, is not one of the top five receiver prospects in this draft class.
The No. 91 slot would put Sanu toward the end of the third round in the draft, which runs from Thursday thru Saturday.
Recent mock drafts have had the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Sanu being selected anywhere from the middle of the second round of the draft to the tail end of the third round. The primary concern regarding Sanu has been speed and his ability to separate from NFL cornerbacks.
Sanu, generally considered a possession type receiver at the NFL level, has worked out for both the New York Giants and New York Jets. Both teams could use additional depth at the receiver position.
