Rutgers Vs. Notre Dame Preview: Scarlet Knights Look To Snap 3-Game Losing Streak

Even worse than trying to climb out of a losing streak is knowing that worst has yet to come. Having lost three straight, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights are on tap to face three consecutive ranked opponents, starting with the No. 25 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Wednesday night (7:00 p.m. ET, ESPNU).

The upshot for Rutgers is that they already upset the Irish, 65-58, on Jan. 16 for one of just two wins in the past month. The Scarlet Knights shot 46.7 percent from behind the arc in the win, and benefited from a 5-for-13 performance from the free throw line by the Irish. Since then, both teams have experienced a reversal of fortune, however. Rutgers has gone 1-5 since starting 3-3 in Big East play. Notre Dame has won six straight since the loss.

To pull out the win on the road, Rutgers will need more production from players not named Eli Carter. Myles Mack, the team's second leading scorer on the season, went 0-for-9 from the field during last week's loss to Seton Hall. The Scarlet Knight's also need to shoot much from beyond the arc, after going 6-for-23 against the Pirates.
