National Signing Day: Rutgers Coach Kyle Flood Has High Praise For Class Of 2012

New Rutgers Scarlet Knights head coach Kyle Flood was very pleased with the 2012 recruiting class that he and his staff were able to bring in (via NJ.com).

"This is an exciting a day as we've ever had in Rutgers history," Flood said.

Flood noted that the effort in bringing in the top ranked recruiting class in the Big East (and among the Top 25 in the country) was not just a one-season deal.

"We've been recruiting this class for over two years. It wasn't an eight-month thing."

Rutgers' class includes 20 players (11 from the state of New Jersey), 18 of which signed their National Letters of Intent today. There are five offensive lineman in the class, a critical need for Rutgers. Flood, the Rutgers offensive line coach from 2005-2011, thought his haul at the offensive line position was the best in the country.

"It's going to be hard for me not to coach those guys," Flood joked. "I believe this is the top offensive line recruiting class in the country.''
