Rutgers Football Coaching Search: Temple's Steve Addazio Top Target, According To Report

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights hold Temple Owls head football coach Steve Addazio in high regard as a possible replacement for the departed Greg Schiano, according to ScarletReport.com, an affiliate of Scout.com.

The website reports that Addazio is scheduled to meet with school officials on Friday.

A Temple spokesperson denied the report to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“He has been with a recruit from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and now he’s in his office,” the spokesperson said.

Addazio was not made available to comment when the Inquirer asked for an interview. The school spokesperson said Addazio declined the request and the school does not respond to rumors.

Addazio was 9-4 in his first season coaching the Owls after serving for two years as Florida’s offensive coordinator.
