Kyle Flood: Rutgers Offensive Line Coach Promoted To Interim Head Coach

With Greg Schiano out of the picture the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football program is trying to fill holes as quickly as possible, and did so Thursday by promoting offensive line coach and assistant head coach Kyle Flood to interim head coach, tweeted Jason Baum who's Associate Athletic Director for Communications at Rutgers University. The announcement was made after a players meeting at 3 p.m.

Rutgers' AD Tim Pernetti will hold a press conference at 4:30 p.m.

The promotion of Flood, who has been with the program for seven seasons, at least brings a bit of stability, which is very much needed as National Signing Day, Feb. 1, is just a few days away and many verbal commitments are starting to waiver.

According to the Rutgers Athletics website, Flood has also served as assistant coach for four years.
