Ryan Brodie Commits To Rutgers' Class Of 2012 Which Lands Another Four-Star Player

The Rutgers football program landed a huge recruit Thursday, as four-star offensive tackle Ryan Brodie committed to be a Scarlet Knight in a press conference held at his high school in Long Branch, NJ. Brodie (6-foot-5, 260-pounds) picked Rutgers over the Connecticut Huskies to become the 17th commit for Rutgers' Class of 2012.

According to The Star-Ledger's Tom Luiccih, Brodie is New Jersey's top offensive line prospect. Brodie's Scouts.com profile says can squat 450-pounds and max bench 350. Scout's also ranks him as the 15th-best offensive lineman, while Rivals.com ranks him No. 11.

Brodie becomes the third four-star recruit to commit to Rutgers, as offensive lineman J.J. Denman, a 6-foot-6, 300-pounder from Pennsbury SHS, and wide receiver Leonte Carroo, a 6-foot-2, 200-pounder from Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, N.J. Carroo, have already given their verbal commitments.

According to Scouts.com, Rutgers has the 49th ranked recruiting class for 2012 but that rankings should go up after this announcement.
