Rutgers Basketball Schedule: Scarlet Knights At Pittsburgh

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights travel to play the struggling Pittsburgh Panthers Wednesday for a Big East Conference showdown (7 p.m. on SNY).

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights travel to the Pittsburgh Panthers Wednesday for a Big East Conference men's basketball contest (7 p.m. on SNY) that features two Big East Conference programs headed in opposite directions. The Scarlet Knights (9-7, 1-2 Big East) are coming off a solid upset Saturday over No. 17 (then No. 8) Connecticut Huskies, 67-60, while the Panthers (11-5, 0-3) have lost four straight games, including three in the league.

On Saturday, Rutgers downed UConn behind another solid performance from freshman guard Eli Carter, who netted a team-best 19 points. Freshman guard Myles Mack added 14 points off the bench.

Currently, Carter is pacing the Scarlet Knights in scoring with 14.2 points per game, while Mack is second with 10.8 ppg. Sophomore center Gilvydas Biruta is netting 10.4 ppg and collecting a team-best 5.4 rebounds per game.

Meanwhile, Pitt has really struggled losing four consecutive, including a 84-81 road loss to the DePaul Blue Demons Thursday.

Senior guard Ashton Gibbs leads the Panthers in scoring with 16.4 ppg, while senior forward Nasir Robinson is averaging 12.9 ppg and the leading rebounder 6.7 per game.
