The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (8-4) will play the Iowa State Cyclones (6-6) in the 2011 Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium (via Jason Baum's Twitter). The two schools have never met in football. This will be the second edition of the Pinstripe Bowl which began last season.

Rutgers will be back in a bowl after missing one last season following a collapse in the second half of the season. The Knights were in contention to win the Big East and make it to a BCS bowl until their final game, a 40-22 loss to Connecticut.

Iowa State last played in the bowl season in 2009. The Cyclones are only 3-7 all-time in bowl games. Their biggest win this season was a double overtime upset win over Oklahoma State.

Game date, time: 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday, December 30, 2011

Location: Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York

TV channel: ESPN

2010 winner and loser: Syracuse, Kansas State
