Rutgers Vs. LSU Final Score: Scarlet Knights Fall In Big East/SEC Challenge, 55-50

Rutgers lost their first basketball game at home during the 2011 season to LSU, 55-50, on Dec. 3. The game was part of the Big East/SEC Challenge which the Big East won 8-4.

Rutgers held a 28-23 halftime lead and also led 50-49 with a 1:05 left to play in the game. LSU guard Aaron Hickey was not a scoring threat until the final two minutes of the game when he hit two clutch shots. He also assisted on Johnny O'Bryant's breakaway dunk which gave LSU a 53-50 lead with 13 seconds left.

Rutgers lost control of the game once forward Gilvydas Biruta fouled out with 4:50 left to play with the Knights clinging to a 48-44 lead. Biruta had 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals for Rutgers. Rutgers guard/forward Mike Pool tied for the lead in the Challenge for the most steals with 5. Andre Stringer led the Tigers with 13 points.
