2011 Bowl Projections: Rutgers Football In Pinstripe Against Iowa State, According To Report

It was already a unanimous projection that the Rutgers Scarlet Knights would be in the Pinstripe Bowl. Now, it appears that Rutgers will indeed be playing their bowl game in Yankee Stadium. Their opponent will be the Iowa State Cyclones from the Big XII Conference (via Brett McMurphy's Twitter).

Rutgers finished the regular season 8-4. Their season-ending loss to Connecticut knocked the Knights out of contention to win the Big East. Iowa State finished their regular season at 6-6 but potentially knocked Oklahoma State out of the BCS national championship with an upset double overtime win in Ames, Iowa on Nov. 18.

This will be Rutgers' sixth bowl game in seven seasons. Rutgers is 4-2 in bowl games. The Cyclones, which are 3-7 all-time in bowl games, last went bowling during the 2009 year.
