2011 Bowl Projections: Rutgers Football Wearing Pinstripes

It unanimous. According to three major every college football bowl projections -- SB Nation.com, CollegeBowlProjections.com and Scout.com -- Sunday morning, the Rutgers University football program is heading to the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, Dec. 30, at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, NY.

What is not unanimous, however, is the Scarlet Knight's opponent, which will come from the Big 12 Conference. Both SB Nation and Scout.com has Rutgers playing the University of Missouri, while CollegeBowlProjections.com thinks it will be Iowa State University

It was about a month ago, the Scarlet Knights (8-4) become postseason eligible with a 20-17 victory over the University of South Florida, Nov. 5. Last week, Rutgers finished its regular-season schedule with a 40-22 loss to the University of Connecticut. The loss assured that the Scarlet Knights would not earn a share of the Big East Conference title, which comes with a possible invitation to a Bowl Championship Series bowl -- West Virginia University is expected to earn the league's BCS berth to the Orange Bowl, as its projected to finish higher in the BCS rankings
