Before losing Saturday, 44-20, at the University of Connecticut, the Rutgers University football program had hopes of cracking the top 25 college football rankings in Week 14. Instead the Scarlet Knights (8-4, 4-3), who received six votes in last week's AP Poll, didn't receive a vote in this week's rankings, released Sunday.
The Syracuse Orange, who dropped their fourth straight game in a loss to the University of Cincinnati, 30-13, didn't sniff the top 25. As for the Big East Conference, West Virginia University, which defeated the University of Pittsburgh, 21-20, Friday night in the Backyard Brawl, was its lone representative.
