In the biggest game of the season for Rutgers, the Scarlet Knights have put together quite the first half against Big East leaders, the Cincinnati Bearcats, who came into today with a one game lead on Rutgers in the conference. Both teams have seven wins on the season, along with three conference victories, but the Bearcats have one less loss in both columns.
As three-point underdogs on Senior day, Rutgers holds a 10-3 lead going into the locker room. Both the highlight and lowlight for the Scarlet Knights was a 23-play, 82 yard drive in the second quarter that ate up nearly 10 minutes of game clock. Unfortunately, Rutgers could not punch it in from the one on first and goal, and had to settle for a field goal.
The Scarlet Knights have dominated the time of possession 20 minutes to 10, and the total yards tally, 200 to 50, yet still only lead by a touchdown. Rutgers have hurt themselves with penalties, committing six for 40 yards in the first half.
The second half of the game can be found on ESPN U. The Bearcats will receive the ball to start the third quarter.
