Rutgers-Louisville Score Update: Cardinals Lead Scarlet Knights 7-0 End Of First Quarter

Rutgers University is taking on Louisville Friday night in a Big East Conference game live from the Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.

And if the first quarter of play is any indication, the Scarlet Knights are going to have their work cut out for them.

That’s because quarterback Gary Nova was picked by Calvin Pryor on the opening drive, who returned the interception 25 yards, beginning a push from the Cardinals that resulted in a 43-yard field goal attempt that was shanked by Chris Philpott.

Bullet dodged.

Unfortunately Louisville kept on firing, as Jeremy Wright turned on the jets and rushed for 29 yards to the one yard line. Dominique Brown took over and ran it in followed by the extra point from Chris Philpott.

The Scarlet Knights would get the ball back but failed to do anything with it, driving 42 yards before being forced to punt.

Let’s see if Rutgers can get on the board in the second quarter and make this thing a game.
