Who said the Big East Conference can't play football?
On Friday afternoon, the league won its third bowl victory of the 2010-11 postseason as the South Florida Bulls beat the Clemson Tigers, 31-26, in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.
The Big East, which has participated in four bowls, earned its first "W" on Dec. 21 when the Louisville Cardinals defeated Southern Mississippi, 31-28.
On Thursday night, the Syracuse Orange earned the league's second victory by beating the Kansas St. Wildcats, 36-34, in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.

On Saturday, the Connecticut Huskies, the league champions, play in the BCS Tostitos Fiesta Bowl against No. 7 Oklahoma in Glendale, Ariz. (8:30 p.m. on ESPN).
The Pittsburgh Panthers cap the Big East bowl season on Jan. 8. The Panthers (7-5) play the Kentucky Wildcats (6-6, 2-6 Southeast Conference) in the BBVA Compass Bowl (noon on ESPN).
The conference's only loss came during the Champs Sports Bowl. The West Virgina Mountaineers were dominated by the N.C. State Wolfpack, 23-7, in Orlando, Fla.
