The Rutgers Scarlet Knights finished the season with a 9-3 record, but it wasn't enough to earn a spot in the AP Top 25 poll released Sunday.
The Knights earned six votes. Thirteen teams earned more votes but also did not make the Top 25.
There were no surprises on top after Saturday's action. Notre Dame is still the No. 1 team, while Alabama is No. 2 after edging Georgia on Saturday.
The Bulldogs, which were No. 3 before Saturday's loss to Alabama, is now No. 6. Ohio State is now the No. 3 team.
Florida and Oregon round out the top five, respectively.
Nebraska fell from No. 14 to No. 23 this week. Kent State also saw a dip, dropping from No. 18 to No. 25. Boise State jumped from No. 25 to No. 20.
Rutgers started the season 9-1, but lost its last two games of the season to Pittsburgh and Louisville. The Scarlet Knights were blown out on the road, 27-6, to the Panthers and were edged by the Cardinals, 20-17, on Nov. 29.
