NCAA Football rankings, Week 14: Rutgers falls out of AP Top 25

The Rutgers are no longer getting Top 25 consideration from the Associated Press after losing their second game of the season Saturday to Pittsburgh.

Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights were knocked out of the AP Top 25 following their 27-6 Saturday loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers.

The Associated Press had Rutgers at No. 21 before Pitt delivered the upset special but even with the loss, the Scarlet Knights still have a chance to play in a BCS bowl.

If Rutgers is able to take care of business this Thursday against Louisville, they'll be heading to either the Orange Bowl or the Sugar Orange Bowl as the Big East's BCS representative. Louisville was also delivered an upset this weekend at the hands of the Connecticut Huskies, which knocked them out of the Top 25 as well.

Three Big East schools did receive votes though, as Louisville totaled 73, Rutgers compiled 50 and Cincinnati managed three.
