The latest college football rankings have been released by the Associated Press, and the unbeaten Rutgers Scarlet Knights moved up two spots in the latest polls. The Scarlet Knights (5-0 overall, 2-0 Big East) defeated the Connecticut Huskies, 19-3, on Saturday to extend their winning streak to five games and help move from No. 22 to 20.
This is the first time since 2007 that the Scarlet Knights are ranked this high in the AP Poll. Two weeks ago, Rutgers made its first appearance in the AP Poll since Nov. of 2009.
Nationally, the Alabama Crimson Tide retained the top spot, while the Oregon Ducks, South Carolina Gamecocks, Florida Gators and West Virginia Mountaineers rounded out the top 5.
The LSU Tigers, who were No. 4 last week, fell to No. 9 after its loss to Florida. Also falling were the Florida St. Seminoles, ranked 12th after being 3rd last week, and the Georgia Bulldogs, No. 14 after being No. 5.
