Rutgers at Temple score: Owls lead, 7-0

The Temple Owls currently lead the No. 15 Rutgers Scarlet Knights after the first quarter of play, 7-0.

Temple broke a scoreless tie with 36 seconds left to go in the first quarter, when quarterback Chris Coyer completed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Chris Cody, capping off an eight-play, 46-yard drive to give Temple the 7-0 lead.

Rutgers' offense has been nonexistent through the first quarter. The Scarlet Knights have had the ball for just 2:49 of the game's first 15 minutes. Rutgers has just 23 total yards.

Temple, meanwhile, has had the ball for 11:51 – and has 115 total yards. Montel Harris leads all players with 10 carries thus far, and also has a game-high 44 rushing yards.

Rutgers has also been unable to stop Coyer. Coyer is a perfect 4-for-4 passing for 41 yards and a touchdown, and also has carried the ball seven times for 28 yards.

Rutgers has possession of the ball as the second quarter gets underway, and the Scarlet Knights will try to put together their first successful drive of the game.
