Despite earning a 23-15 victory over the Syracuse Orange and improving to 6-0 overall, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights moved up only slightly in the latest AP Poll released Sunday. The Scarlet Knights (6-0, 3-0 Big East Conference) jumped just one spot, No. 20 to 19, after remaining unbeaten.
Rutgers is one of three teams in the Big East ranked in the top 25, as the Louisville Cardinals are ranked 16th and the Cincinnati Bearcats are slotted No. 21.
Overall, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Oregon Ducks remain the top two programs in the country. Alabama received all of the 60 first-place votes, while Oregon sits 64 points behind the Tide in second place.
The Florida Gators, Kansas St. Wildcats and Notre Dame Fighting Irish round out the top 5. The rest of the top 10 features the LSU Tigers, Ohio St. Buckeyes, Oregon St. Beavers, South Carolina Gamecocks and Oklahoma Sooners.
