Rutgers vs. Syracuse score: Scarlet Knights lead Orange, 17-7, after 3 quarters

A 75-yard touchdown scored on a return from a blocked field goal has helped the No. 20-ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights earn a 17-7 lead over the Syracuse Orange. The Big East Conference football game has reached the conclusion of the third quarter.

Duron Harmon scored Rutgers' touchdown after he scooped up a blocked 32-yard field goal by Syracuse kicker Ross Krautman. Harmon, who blocked two field goals against SU last season, rumbled 3/4 of the field into the end zone.

A 25-yard field goal by Scarlet Knights' kicker Nick Borgese pushed the lead to 10 points with about four minute to play in the third quarter. That score was setup by a fumble by SU quarterback Ryan Nassib near midfield that was recovered by Rutgers. 11 plays later, Borgese split the uprights.

Rutgers will start the fourth quarter facing a 4th-and-6 from its own territory. It will punt the ball away to SU.
